Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Transportation, the DVP Distribution leads and coordinates all distribution activities across the Lowe’s national distribution network. They are responsible for the development and implementation of the Logistics components of the overall Supply Chain strategy to support the strong growth strategy of the organization. They are responsible for developing capabilities and other initiatives to improve the distribution network’s performance over a multi-year horizon leveraging distribution processes, infrastructure, and other enablers.

Responsabilités principales :

  • Lead the Distribution function for Lowe’s Company Canada including all distribution centers, third party operations, and lumber and building material distribution centers representing more than 1200 employees across 7 distribution centers across Canada
  • Optimizes third-party contractual agreements under their responsibility including labour contracts and ensures compliance
  • Be a role model for the company culture with a strong focus on the customer
  • Lead a diverse team of Directors and Managers to achieve the operational and strategic goals within their area of responsibility
  • Actively works on succession planning with their management team including annual performance reviews, quarterly updates, and follow-up on development plans
  • Works to ensure employee opinion scores (EOS) are improved and Voice teams are empowered to implement change
  • Lead the annual budget planning process for the Distribution department
  • Maintain and manage the budget for the Distribution department including revising forecasts
  • Create, monitor, and reports on a daily, weekly, and period basis distribution key performance indicators such as service level agreements and cost objectives
  • Regularly report on distribution performance to executive team and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate with functional leads in the US to enhance the growth of the Canadian business
  • Identify and lead strategic process improvements efforts as they relate to management processes, planning, and execution systems within Distribution
  • Lead the design and implementation of a combined - Lowe’s and Rona - future national omnichannel network
  • Provide monthly updates on the status of projects and give progress reports on other process improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate all cross-functional programs with Merchandising, Transportation, Supply Chain, Store Operations and other areas as required
  • Ensures the deployment of cutting-edge distribution strategy in the context of our omnichannel strategy
  • Uses warehouse management systems and related operating systems to improve productivity, rationalize distribution flows, and meet operational efficiency objectives

Formation, expérience, connaissances, aptitudes :

Minimum 4-year Bachelor's degree in logistics, industrial engineering, operations, or business administration, an M.B.A. is preferred.

10 to 15 years supply chain management and distribution experience in comparable industries with 4 years in a senior management position

Experience in a multi-facility distribution network

  • Experience leading unionized and non-unionized facilities and functions

  • Superior analytical skills, particularly in the area of financial and strategic analysis

  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office desktop applications, inclusive of Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
